CDS India 2026 

 

Cambridge Diabetes Seminar | 11-17 October 2026,
Kochi, Kerala 

The Cambridge Diabetes Seminar series provides a unique opportunity for participants from a range of health-related professional backgrounds to engage in knowledge sharing, discussion, debate and collaboration on prominent issues in diabetes epidemiology, prevention and management. The format of the Seminar is a week-long residential course, with resident international expert Faculty and approximately 50 participants. The goal is to provide the Seminar free of cost to participants to enable wide and equitable access.

Since the first Seminar in 1981, a further thirteen courses have been held in Cambridge, the latest in 2024. In 2010, the Cambridge Seminar was held in China. In 2026 it will be held in India, acknowledging the enormous scale and public health challenge of diabetes mellitus in India, and to help build capacity locally to tackle those challenges.

WHO SHOULD APPLY? 

Applications to attend the CDS2026-India are invited from clinicians, epidemiologists or public health professionals who have an interest in the epidemiological and public health aspects of diabetes. Professionals currently doing a research MD or PhD, or postdoctoral training, or in clinical posts are welcome to apply. The course is not suitable for senior academics. Participants will be selected on the basis of their potential contribution to the public health efforts related to diabetes prevention and management.

LOGISITICS

– CDS2026-India is cost-free to attend: there is no registration fee, and full-board accommodation with all meals are provided without charge from the point of arrival to the course venue. Some travel bursaries are available.

– As a condition for being selected, attendance is required at all sessions and discussion groups for the full Seminar duration.Each selected participant will be expected to make a short presentation of their emerging or established research, depending on their professional stage.

Travel bursary: 

The Seminar is cost-free from the point of arrival to the Seminar venue, but does not cover travel costs. There are a limited number of travel bursaries available upon application for those eligible who cannot identify other funding. To qualify for a travel bursary, please include a supporting letter from your supervisor, Head of Department or equivalent, indicating the amount requested with justification. Please note that for any travel support, only economy class travel and the maximal use of public transport is expected. The travel bursary, if approved, may cover part or all of the travel expenses incurred, and it will be given after the Seminar upon production of receipts, not in advance.

Note: The number of places available for this training seminar is limited. A selection committee will consider all applications, and places offered will take into account candidates who are likely to benefit most from attending the Seminar. Places will not be based on a first-come, first-served principle, so all applications submitted by the closing date will be given equal consideration.
