Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) is a not-for-profit organization, registered as a society in December 2000 under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. CCDC has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. CCDC has been granted an exemption under section 12A of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

The society has also obtained exemption u/s 80G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. CCDC also holds a registration under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 1976, and is permitted by the Government of India to receive and send funds from and to foreign agencies.
